How It Works

Step 1 - Schedule an Initial Consultation

You can book an appointment online or call our office at 502-677-3892!

Step 2 - Complete Sign Up - Page

After booking an appointment, you will receive a text from our office with a signup page. There is a $50 consultation fee to pay at the end of the sign up page. Once this is sent you will have 72 hours to complete. If this is not completed within that timeframe, we will release the appointment. Your $50 consultation fee goes towards your first months membership if you decide that NP Modalities is right for you!

Step 3 - Complete Intake Forms

After finishing your signup form, you will recieve intake/consent forms. We like for these to be completed at least the day before your booked appointment. This allows our practitioners to learn more about you prior to your appointment! If they are not completed we will have to reschedule your appointment.

Our office will also reach out to you prior to your appointment to put a payment method on file. This allows our practitioners to be able to place your medications the same day of your appointment. If you decide NP Modalities isn't right for you, there will be no charges for membership or medications.

Step 4 - Initial Consultation

Initial Consultations typically last anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. Your practitioner will go over your intake form, inform you about medications offered and treatments, and any questions you may have!

Step 5 - Receive Medications

Medications are typically shipped within 2-4 business days from the pharmacy to your home. if you have any questions once you receive your medications, feel free to contact your practitioner!

Weight loss is a sensitive topic and struggle for many people often creating a strain on mental health. Obesity affects more than 1 in 3 adults in the United States leading to  increased risk for type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular events, liver disease, kidney disease, and many other comorbidites. Regardless given our busy life demands and ease of access to the fast, but poorly nutritious options of fast food the weight today is easier to gain than lose.

At NP Modalities, we want to work with you to assess your overall health status and goals to customize an individualized plan for success through a comprehensive approach. Weight loss plans do not work for many people because they are not individualized to what will work for them and as a result may lack sustainability. What is right for someone else, may not be what is right for you.

Keep in mind that underlying factors like hormone imbalance, insulin resistance, or chronic inflammation can play a major key in successful weight loss as well. Additionally stress management, sleep hygiene, and nutrient support are also extremely important.

Potential Treatment Options

*Please note these treatments are not "magic", and they are simply tools that you can use in combination with diet and activity to hit your goals. We will be available every step on the way for guidance and support.*

Please note these are compounded medications. The compounding pharmacies that we utilize are regulated, even though the medications that are compounded are not considered FDA approved for weight loss because they are compounded. No compounded medication is considered FDA approved.

Semaglutide Compound

This is a Glucagon-like Peptide (GLP-1) Receptor Agonist  and is one of the most popular options for weight loss currently. GLP-1 is one of the incretin hormones naturally produced in the body which tell us to stop eating.

Unlike our natural GLP-1 which only lasts minutes, semaglutide is able to last for weeks.

What does it do?

  • Delays how quickly the stomach digests food leading to a feeling of fullness giving better portion control as well as reduction in cravings.

  • Delayed intestinal motility allowing the feeling of fullness for longer after meals.

  • Stimulation of insulin secretion by pancreas to lower blood glucose values by helping the cells use glucose from what you consume INSTEAD of storing as fat and also by reducing production of sugar in the liver termed glycogenesis.

  • Reduces inflammation throughout the body.

Contraindications:

  • Family or personal history of medullary thyroid carcinoma
  • Multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome  (Type 2)
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Type 1 Diabetes
  • History of pancreatitis (talk with provider)

Tirzepatide Compound

This is also a glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) receptor agonist, but has a dual component of being a glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP) which increases its effectiveness. Like Semaglutide it has shown great results in assisting with weight loss. GLP-1 and GIP are two incretin hormones that we have in our body to tell us to stop eating.

This is also great for patients with cravings or binge-eating. We commonly use this in those with chronic inflammatory or autoimmune conditions who are also struggling with weight. This may also be useful in those with chronic pain.
